Have you ever wondered why the term ‘born’ is so often mentioned or asked whenever the subject of leadership is raised?
Not too many other subjects are honoured with the same distinction!
Suggesting that unless one is a "born" leader there is no hope? Forget it - one has no chance!!! Blame our parents! Deprived at birth! Perhaps, that is why there are so many books on leadership. Ever counted the number in a bookstore? There are hundreds of them. So why is it so hard to gain confidence when perhaps, after all, you might just be able to make a fist of it? It is brutal - we know when leadership is present and when it is not. Throwing a word bridge over the subject is relatively easy - living the reality is another matter.
So why surely, there is enough advice about to enable all of us to make a fist of it?
But it remains brutal, we all know when leadership is present and when it is not.
Throwing a wordbridge over the subject has been achieved by many - but living the reality is another matter. Although, there is one thing that has become clear at 2am - once we decide to own a real estate office we are, in reality, entering the leadership business. Best to make a decent fist of it. But all is not lost. So many first class leaders, through personal discipline and ambition, have shrugged off the tag “not a born leader”.
