Fiona Blayney, ARPM a unique property management event

FIONA BLAYNEY

I can remember my first speaking session at ARPM 2003, presenting “The Coal Face Property Manager”, and since then having spent the past 8 years as a consultant and trainer, a conference presenter and organiser and at times student, I have experienced the best Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US has to offer.

With changes to the industry, it is our role to adapt to the needs of our delegates – that’s you! Over the years I have been proud of our ability to bring to our clients cutting edge education that propels individuals and businesses forward. This has meant often changing our approach. Changes in 2008 saw the amalgamation of the AREC and ARPM events, bringing Sales and Property Management together under the one roof for the first time.

Since this day, I have often been asked to create and host a Property Management conference of a different type, to exclusively showcase to the Australasian Property Management industry the best that the world has to offer. I have dreamt of a unique Property Management event, showcasing the best our industry has to offer. I know that we have created a program that serves to challenge even the elite businesses across Australasia.

Over two days 7th – 8th August, The Hilton Sydney we will hear from some of the best business minds, stretching your own thinking to work together to move yourself and your business in directions you have not even yet imagined as well as ignite previous goals and help turn them into reality.

Jonathon Handford from Newman and Fine and Country..

Understands what it is to work within fluctuating markets, run successful teams and grow. Day one will see Jon work with the full group on methodologies for rent roll growth – UK Style. Focusing on customer service, building relationships and leaving no stone unturned when it comes to opportunity maximisation. Day 2 our Management and Director group will discover the key elements to managing a high performance team. How do you take the team with you on the journey, and do so knowing that the impossible just simply takes a little bit longer. Time spent with Jon will give you fresh insights into how he plans, manages and communicates whilst creating a team of ongoing learning and development.

Vasilli Hadzellis of Richardson and Wrench Corporate..

Doesn’t need to imagine listing and leasing 20 – 30 New Managements per month whilst maintaining a management fee 2% higher than his competitors! Now you don’t have to either, this can be a reality. As a Property Management Professional and having focused 5 years on building one of Sydney’s most respected Property Management businesses he is now imparting this knowledge through his role as Franchise Services Manager at Richardson and Wrench. Vas has a plethora of secrets to build a rolling source of new clients. “Business Development is not “easy” it takes planning, dedication, focus and time”, but with the right knowledge, skill and attitude you too can grow. I am looking forward to sharing my secrets”

Chris Gray of Empire..

knows to get the best results for your client – and the greatest job satisfaction for yourself – you need to understand the life of an investor. Many property managers don’t own their own investment property. So how can you begin to walk a day in your client’s shoes if they don’t even fit? Independent property expert, “Your Money Your Call” host and Empire CEO Chris Gray has over two decades experience in the market as a buyer and investor. Chris will show you how, by understanding your investors, you will distinguish yourself from your competitors. He will outline the advantages of having a network of investor clients, top tips to attract good tenants and keep them happy, simple ways you can gain more managements and how it’s possible to work smarter: less hours, less stress and better clients.

Amanda Stevens, Author..

Understands that sales skills conjure misguided notions of “closing a deal”, but every interaction we have with our clients and customers involves selling. Amanda's session is an interactive, energetic and dynamic look at the psychology of selling of the female decision maker. She looks at the key differences between men and women and how businesses can harness the differences and optimise sales to the female client.

Helena Popovic..

Doesn’t pull any punches, she knows everyone wants to be healthy and it’s obvious that peak performance requires peak health. But it isn’t happening. Australia has overtaken America as the fattest and most unfit nation in the world. A title we don’t want to hang on to.

Moment by moment we’re making choices that either improve our health or strain our health; that either lift our performance or lower our performance. This session reveals the often-surprising consequences of our choices and how to start choosing for success.

Katie Knight (Remax Toowoomba) and Nigel Bowden (Harcourts Grenadier Accommodati on Centre)..

Have experienced a whole new level of time management, maintenance and communication challenges. Just when you thought you were having a bad day, our friends in Queensland and New Zealand were taking stress to a whole new level.

Imagine watching as your entire town was engulfed with water, cars were floating down the street? How would you react to your entire portfolio requiring renovation all in one day?

This wasn’t imagined for many of our industry colleagues - it was a reality. Experience the aftermath of floods and earthquakes as Katie and Nigel take you through the fateful hours before, during and after Australia and New Zealand’s natural disasters.

James Castrission and Justin Jones..

departed Forster, Australia to embark on a journey that no other had ever achieved... 62 days later; they arrived in New Plymouth, New Zealand kayaked 3318km, braved 10 metre swells, howling winds, endured severe food and sleep deprivation and adverse winds and currents.

They became the first kayakers to cross the Tasman Sea as well as becoming the longest transoceanic double kayak expedition. Staggering upon the shores of New Zealand, the adventurers were sunburnt, bearded, underweight, and physically and mentally wasted…but most of all happy to be alive.
