When researching the topic of productivity, I was bombarded with a plethora of blogs, articles, websites and apps all sharing insights and tools to aid our daily quest for increased productivity. William Penn, a Real Estate Entrepreneur of the late 1600’s, articulated a sentiment that resonated with me: “Time is what we want most, but what we use the worst”. The world is speeding up, and without the use of technological tools it can be challenging to utilise your time in the most efficient manner. There are an array of productivity tools available on the market; these are some of the best tools to help increase your productivity.
Evernote Is an online workspace that can be used for both your professional and personal life. The platform allows users to compile lists, collate inspiration pieces, whether that be articles, images or web links all in the one central location. The collaboration functionality is the perfect tool to communicate, and share work with colleagues, all in the one platform. Evernote can be used individually or across teams in your business. As this is a web/app-based program you can access Evernote at any time, across any device. There is a free subscription which provides you with the basic functionality or two paid subscriptions, providing you with additional features.
Are you interested to see where your time goes? Or how long you are spending on each task? Toggl is a one click time tracking system, allowing you to see how much time is spent on each task, helping you prioritise your time. Although it could be daunting timing your every movement, it is also incredibly insightful, helping you to ensure you use your time as effectively as possible. The system can be used across teams with the ability to export timesheets and reports on time usage.
In a similar vein to Evernote, Wunderlist is a list based organisational tool, which is more or less a simplified version of Evernote. You can categorise and create lists within the app then share lists or tasks with friends, family or colleagues. Within the lists you can assign tasks to people from within the app, a great way to ensure every task is completed. Additional features include reminders, due dates, notes and comments. If you are looking for a simple list app, this is the one for you.
How many emails do you receive per day, and how many of them do you automatically delete? Our inboxes are full of junk mail but with the help of Unroll. Me you are now able to effectively manage your inbox. Through this website you can bulk unsubscribe from all of the newsletters you are no longer interested in. If there are organisations you still wish to hear from, Unroll.Me can compile these into one digestible newsletter, freeing up your inbox and your time.
