The business case for Property Management
Sarah believes, “The property management department in the real estate industry has been undervalued for too long. We all know the difference between the cash and asset values of your sales and your property management department. We’ve got business owners all around the country banking their superannuation on the property management department so it needs to perform. It needs to be an asset that is performing on a cash basis and it needs to be an asset that is going to give you the financial freedom that you set out to get as a business owner.”
It must be seen as an integral part of the business
Sarah thinks that property management can be seen, “as a silo outside of the real estate practice. I want to bring property management back in line with the sales department. There shouldn’t be a divide.”

Sarah believes that one powerhouse company, with everyone shooting for the same goal, creates, “a synergy between your departments - you haven’t got gaps with customers falling through. You haven’t got a divide where money is falling through. You’re not losing engagement.”
With Sarah’s approach of focusing on the customer, you create perpetual real estate relevance. You’re in front of buyers all the time. You can address their needs as investors, as buyers, as homeowners, which is what they are before they’re sellers. If you’re addressing their need as tenants, you’re engaged all the time. When it’s under one roof and it’s all performing - there’s a lot of activity for driving profit.
